________SCHÖCKL mountain hike

SATURDAY April 27th, 10am - 2 pm
>> meet at: Schöckl cableway - lower station

Put on your hiking boots and join us on our hike up mount Schöckl outside Graz.

On this excursion, we will look out for wild flowers and plants that are medicinal and edible. You are welcome to bring a basket / bag to put your findings in.

It takes about 1,5 h to reach the mountain top.

There is a café / restaurant on the top, and to go down you can either hike or take the funicular railway (8-9 €)

a Café Witch tradition 🌞 !!

This time we are stoked to have Abelina Holzer join us to lead the first half of the workshop (in German) and Vida Vojić will host the second half with the usual poetry circle (in English), though throughout the workshop: ANY LANGUAGE is WELCOME!
All levels welcome, no previous experience required.

Please bring with you to the workshop: pen and paper / notebook, old books or newspapers that are no longer in use, a poem of your liking (all languages welcome) and a sense of adventure.

Abelina Holzer is a Graz-based poet and collector of words. Delving into the world of language is the central aspect of her writing. She offers creative writing workshops where different writing impulses and creative techniques are used to explore creativity in new ways.

Discussion Forum "Who is The Witch? - meaning, history, trend"

Join for a discussion about "Who is The Witch?", both looking at history, mythology and contemporary trends.

We are delighted to be joined by Martina from the Museum of Jesenik, Czech Republic. She will give a brief introduction of the museum's focused theme, which is the 17th century witch trials in Europe, and also present their festival JESNĚNÍ. This will be followed by a panel discussion about The Witch.

DAWN of the incoming NEW AGES
is a prophetic lecture by Vida Vojić


A lecture on ancient prophecies, alternative time records and potential futures.

Join Vida Vojić (aka rockstar oracle) as we take a brief dip into the many and various belief systems and mystery traditions that speak about the distant past, the times that we live in, and the times that are to come, in a prophetic and cosmically interpretative way. There will be references to ancient Egypt and Greece, the Mayan calendar, the Hindu “cycle of the Yugas”, as well as the more recent Thelemic order and the new “Aeon of Horus” - all loosely connecting to what many astrologers refer to as the “Aquarian age” - marked by the slowly changing position of the earth’s tilted axis, which causes the so called “precession of the equinoxes”. Whether or not this is all news to you, you are welcome without any previous knowledge or opinions about these topics. Get ready for the DAWN of the NEW AGE.

!DISCLAIMER! - this is not a lecture based on scientifically proven truths, rather, it will be based on asking questions, inspiring a sense of possibility, and together interpreting historical events, religious ideas, mythical perspectives and alternative conceptions of time.

We warmly welcome you! Just show up, maybe bring a notebook. The lecture will be in English, but German translation will be available upon request.

"Your dreams are mermaids" explores the deceptively enrapturing nature of visions, which, when pursued at all costs, can lead one to either great achievements, or to a self imposed prison. Recognising our dreams as complex psychic maps that need to be followed with patience and courage, just like in the Odyssey, can help get us onwards in our search for identity and belonging.

About Chloé:

Usually inclined to push her own boundaries, the curious nature of Chloé Ryo always leads her towards unfamiliar experiences. Currently based in Graz as a trombonist and contemporary musician, her creativity has driven her to explore alternative means of expression beyond her instrument. Aspiring to have freedom and openness is essential to her. Her artistic practice primarily involves breaking down barriers between different forms of music, as she explores a wide creative range, from interpreting written music to improvisation, electroacoustic composition, and performative creation. Her musical ambition is fueled by her contemporary era, which she sees as an opportunity to gain diverse knowledge that allows her to express her own vision and break free from categorizations.

Kicking off Walpurgisnacht and warming up for May 1 with an exciting group talk around the intersection of art & activism, featuring amazing guests!

We are very excited to speak with Maryam Farhang, Igor F Petković & Majda Krivograd and invite all of you to join the discussion and share your thoughts.


MARYAM FARHANG is a visual and performance artist from Teheran, currently based in Graz.
Her artistic themes are inspired by her life. She views her body as a political body that has experienced oppression and strict laws since childhood and ultimately learned to be a resistant body through the language of art in various media.


MAJDA KRIVOGRAD
After growing up in St.Michael ob Bleiburg / Šmihel nad Pliberkom, Majda studied architecture in Graz, Ljubljana and Paris. Since 2009, owner of mura.at (design, planning & implementation for art and cultural workers).

Co-founder in 2010 and President of the Grrrls cultural association since 2024, whose event formats and activities serve to make queer-feminist and emancipatory subcultural music and art forms visible.

An important contribution of the Grrrls Cultural Association is the organization of the STERRRN Festival 2024, which will take place for the second time in June this year in the sculpture park.

Lead singer of the glamor punk band Killa Marilla and DJ Tetkaarhitektka.



IGOR F. PETKOVIĆ :[itsch]:
is a free conceptual artist in a broad field of media, spaces and performative actions. He leads the artist association APORON 21 with the art spaces Kunst Klub Kräftner and Kunst Inkubator Rösselmühle.
lock down / burn out - healing waves I-III - LOVE transformations

As a natural reaction, digital long exposures of photo performances were created on shamanic-ritually charged full moon nights, depicting the flaming dance with the cathartic power of purifying fire in burning images. The expanded body memory and glowing embodiment strengthens a resilience that understands the homeopathic principle of pathos as purification or purgation as the expulsion of a disturbing substance. In the Dionysian play of fire, the fear of existence burns up in multiple flickering narratives of circular becoming and passing away. And like advertising branding in the night, the flaming letters of love burn themselves into the image - LOVE.
